I hope i don't suffer the same fate a few months down the line. A word of caution then with these, use the carry case if you can as perhaps in some way I damaged mine by keeping them wrapped around the walkman when not in use.** As far as the quality goes i am using a Sony X series Walkman like the user above to mostly listen to Pop/r'n'b/dance and rock stuff. I have customed tuned the EQ's to my liking since owning the walkman a couple of years ago and left the setting as it was and was immediately impressed by the soundstage on offer. Not perfectly analytical nor overly musical +- Best for pop and pop/rock - Lack of sub-bass detail, bass can be boomy - Impact not consistently present - Classical lacks detail and space After 6 years my old Creative EP-630s are..actually still going strong. But the slight tear in the silicone tip was enough justification for me to look out for another pair, lol. I've been on the lookout for some commuting in ear headphones. I seem to have sensitive ear canals, take umbridge at over powering bass and, of course, when there is a lack of bass.My comparison 'phones are apple's standard buds - attrocious - and Bose's on ear Quiet Comfort 3s - great sound, but disproportionately heavy on the bass. These Beyer Dynamics are just right. they fit (and there are additional sized buds included) and the sound is distractingly immersive... with just the level of bass i hope was intended.
